Information on Admission to K1 Classes in the 2023/24 School Year

1. Collection Methods of Application Forms (No Quota):

• Download from our school website
• Obtain from our school in person

 

2. Distribution Period

• Date:Distributed all year/download application form
• Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday to Friday)

 

3. Return Methods of Application Forms (No Quota):

• Please submit the application form with applicant’s photo and the following documents:

  – The copy of applicant’s Birth Certificate

  – The copies of parents’ valid Hong Kong Identity Cards

  -Three stamped self-addressed envelopes (with address, children’s name & $2.2 stamp)

• Return by post:

  Mail to our school and indicate “Admission Application” on the envelope.

  The application fee should be paid by a crossed cheque and written to “Ka Fuk Baptist Church Pre-School”

• Submit in-person:

  – Every Thursday 1:00pm to 4:00pm

  – The application fee can be paid in cash

• Application Deadline:

  Date: From today to 22/9/2022 (Thursday)4:00PM

5. Application for the “2023/24 Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission”

• The Education Bureau (EDB) implement the Free Quality Kindergarten Education policy starting from the 2017/18 school year to replace the existing “Pre-primary Education Voucher Scheme”. Under the new Scheme, the EDB will use the “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” as the document for registration in the 2023/24 school year.
• Parents are required to submit an application for the “2023/24 Registration
  Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” (hereafter referred as “2023/24 RC”) to the EDB from September to November 2022. The “2023/24 RC” will be open for applications in September 2022 and the EDB will announce and upload the details of application onto their website (link to be inserted) in due course.

 

6. Admission Criteria:

• Priority of Consideration will be given to:
• Applicants with sibling(s) currently studying at Ka Fuk Baptist Church Pre-School;
• Applicants with sibling(s) or parents who have graduated from Ka Fuk Baptist Church Pre- School;
• Applicants whose parent(s) is/are members or staff of Baptist Mid-Mission;

• The applicants from families in need will be given due priority consideration (Such as those family with both working parents, or family with disabled family members requiring care);

• Applicants who reside near the Ka Fuk Baptist Church Pre-School

• Interview performance

It will be based on the performance of applicants on the day of interview.

(As the number of school places is limited, please understand that not all applicants fulfilling the priority consideration will be guaranteed admission.)

 

7. Interview Arrangements

• Interview opportunity

  The pre-school will arrange the interview for all applicants

• Date of interview

  The interview will be conducted on 5/11/ 2022(Saturday)

• Interview mode

  – Parents have to accompany their child for the interview

  – Interview will include game and conversation

  – Group and/or individual interviews will be arranged

   

• Interview notifications

  Notification will be distributed by post two weeks before the interview. If there is no notice received by then, please contact us at 2677 1696

• Interpretation/translation service

  Please contact us at 2677 1696 if interpretation / translation service is required

• Admission Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Children

  Please contact us at 2677 1696 or email kafuk@biznetvigator.com if interpretation/translation service is required, or parents can be accompanied by relatives and friends who understand Chinese to assist in communication.

 

8. Announcement of Admission Results

• We will inform parents of the K1 admission results by post before 16 December 2022.

 

9. Registration Arrangements

• Successful applicants:

  – Parents should complete the registration procedures for their child from 5^th to 7^th January 2023(“Centralized Registration Dates”) by submitting an original form of the “2023/24 RC” to the pre-school and paying the registration fee of $1,570 (preset by EDB).

• Applicants on the waiting list:

  -The kindergarten will notify parents for the admission result by post or by telephone.

  – If successful applicants fail to register during the “Centralized Registration Dates”, the school may allocate the unfilled place to applicants on the waiting list.

  – When notified, parents then should complete the registration procedures for their child according to the specified date set by the school. Parents are required to submit an original form of the “2023/24 RC” to the pre-school and pay the registration fee.

• Unsuccessful Application

  – Unsuccessful Applicants may refer to the K1 vacancy information released by the EDB on its website after the “Centralized Registration Dates” starting from the end of January 2023.

• Remarks

  – Please be reminded that if parents cannot submit the “2023/24 RC” form during registration, the pre-school may not be able to complete registration for their child. Hence, parents are required to submit application for the Registration Certificate to EDB within the specified period.

  – The 2023/24 registration fee for full day K1 place is HK$1,570.

  – Before admission, parents are required to submit an original physical examination report of the applicant issued by any Registered Medical Practitioner.

  – Successful applicants are required to submit an original physical examination report of the applicant issued by any Registered Medical Practitioner and a copy of their immunization record (both sides).

-The school will apply the school fee and meal fee adjustment according to the consumer price index. After approval from the EDB, the school will announce the new school fee and meal fee in August.

-The school will assist families with financial needs by applying for the Kindergarten and Child Care Centre Fee Remission Scheme.
